Fire Corps
The Belton Fire Department is always taking applications from those interested in becoming part of the Belton Fire Corps. The process begins with five weekly classes, typically held in succession on Thursday evenings. To register fill out a free ONLINE APPLICATION. We'll call interested applicants before the first week of classes, and invite them to participate.
Must agree to a background check to be considered for enrollment. **NEXT CLASS BEGINS MARCH 23**

Fire Corps volunteers gain valuable experience, make friends,and give back to the community. They directly impact the safety of the community because they help expand the services of Belton Fire/EMS. Here are a few ways a fire corps volunteer helps a local department:
  • Promote fire prevention and safety in schools and homes
  • Develop web sites or newsletters
  • Assist with public relations
  • Help with grant writing and fundraising
  • Provide administrative and clerical support
  • Provide canteen services at major incidents
  • Assist with fire mitigation measures by identifying and removing hazards such as overgrown vegetation near structures, etc.
  • Assist with community programs such as roadside cleanup, food drives, and toy collections
  • Assist with preparedness efforts, including planning for quick access of emergency supplies, shelter readiness, and procedural review
  • Provide post-disaster support for victims of fires and other incidents.
