Overview
The Human Resources Department provides administrative support to City departments and policy direction on human resource management and civil service issues. The department implements and manages the recruitment and selection of permanent and temporary City employees, including the drug screening process, maintenance of personnel records, employee performance evaluations, background checks, grievance process and Employee Assistance Program.

The Human Resources Department also administers the employee benefits program. In addition, the department facilitates the City’s workers’ compensation, develops the City’s job classification and compensation system, and coordinates required employee training programs for City employees.
