Stage 5 – Emergency Water Shortage Conditions
Stage 5- Emergency Water Shortage Conditions

Goal
Reduce water usage by 40 percent

Restrictions
All Stage 2, Stage 3, and Stage 4 Requirements remain in effect except:
  • Irrigation of landscaped areas is prohibited.
  • Washing any motor vehicles is prohibited.
  • Water rationing measures and additional surcharges may be instituted

Single-Family Residential
Households may be required to limit usage to 8,000 gallons per month. Customers that exceed rationing limits will be assessed surcharges.

Residential Inside City Limits
  • Allocation of 8,000 gallons per customer
  • Surcharge of $4 for first 2,000 gallons over allocation
  • $3.50 for each 1,000 gallons thereafter

Residential Outside City Limits
  • Allocation of 6,000 gallons per customer
  • Surcharge of $5 for first 2,000 gallons over allocation
  • $4.38 for each 1,000 gallons thereafter

Master-Metered Multi-Family Residential Customers
Customers billed from a meter which jointly measures water to multiple permanent residential dwelling units (e.g., apartments, mobile homes) shall be allocated 6,000 gallons per month for each dwelling unit. These customers would pay current rates until the monthly allocation is exceeded. Once that happens a surcharge of $3.50 will be charged for each 1,000 gallons over the total allocation based on the number of rented apartments or mobile homes at the beginning of the billing period. Surcharges will be cumulative.

Commercial/Industrial Customers
A monthly water usage allocation is established for each nonresidential commercial or industrial customer according to meter size. These customers pay the following monthly surcharges for each meter in the event water rationing (Stage 5) is placed into effect.
