Crime Awareness Notices
While on patrol in your neighborhood, Belton Police Officers are constantly on alert for conditions that may invite crime and devote time to mitigate or correct these conditions, with assistance from residents.  If an officer sees such a condition and is unable to contact the resident or owner, the officer may leave a "Crime Awareness Notice" requesting that property be secured or that a different issue be addressed.  Situations where an officer may leave a Crime Awareness Notice include:
  • Open Garage Doors
  • Doors or Windows Open or Unlocked (Vehicles or Residence)
  • Valuables Left in Vehicle in Plain Sight
  • Bicycles Left in Yard
  • Parcels Left on Front Porch
  • Newspapers or Mail Left Uncollected

Please help us prevent crime in Belton by properly securing your home, business, vehicles and other property.
