City Council Adopts Tax Rate and Approves 2017 Budget

The Belton City Council on Monday adopted the same tax rate as last year, 65.98 cents per $100 valuation. The tax revenues generated from the rate will support a projected $13.5 million general fund budget, which the Council also approved at its meeting.

The State of Texas requires publishing the following language about the approved budget and tax rate:

The City of Belton adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 6.37 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $32.30.
