Belton PD Video Wins State Communications Award

The Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers recognized the City of Belton on Friday, June 10, with the 2015 Award Of Excellence for its Public Service Announcement (Educational -- population 0 to 80,000) video on the RU OK? Senior Program. The Award of Excellence is part of the TAMI Awards, presented annually to select municipalities in recognition of exemplary communication efforts. Contest entries are reviewed and scored by an independent panel of volunteer judges.

"The RU OK? video does a great job highlighting the wonderful volunteers and participants of this unique program. RU OK? has had a tremendous impact, including saving four lives," Belton Police Chief Gene Ellis said.

The winning video introduced the program through interviews with volunteers and participants. It is used to promote the program at events and on the City of Belton website. The video was produced by Texas Pictures.
