Residents Invited to Register for CodeRED Emergency Notification System

Residents Invited to Register for CodeRED Emergency Notification System
January 27, 2015

Would you like to be notified by cell phone when a boil water notice is issued or when flooding may occur? The CodeRED Emergency Communications Network allows Belton officials the ability to quickly deliver messages to targeted areas or the entire City of Belton.

The way the system works is individuals or businesses add their street addresses and phone numbers directly into the system's database. Street addresses are required because CodeRED allows calls to be delivered to specific geographic regions within the City, which reduces unnecessary calls in situations such as a boil water notice. When an emergency occurs, Belton officials draw from the database of subscribers specific to a region and place an automated call.

To register visit Registration Page  Those without Internet access may supply information over the phone by calling Sara Trevino, 254-933-5881, with the Belton Fire Department, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or after business hours call the Belton Police Department, 254-933-5840.

Residents who registered a phone number with the previous emergency notification provider for the City of Belton MUST RE-REGISTER with CodeRED in order to be included. Only numbers in the system will be called.

Registering for CodeRED is easy and secure. Data collected will only be used for emergency notification purposes.
