Man Wanted in Belton and Temple Violent Crimes Arrested

THEODORE SIMSTheodore Dwayne Sims, the 47-year-old man identified as the assailant in a double murder in Temple and an aggravated assault in Belton last night, has been arrested in Harker Heights.
Sims had an arrest warrant out of Belton related to an aggravated assault that occurred at about 8:11 p.m. on Wednesday at NAPA Auto Parts in Belton, 1000 E. 6th Ave.
Following the Belton assault, the vehicle Sims was driving was seen near the scene of a double homicide at O'Reilly Auto Parts in Temple, 1720 SW H K Dodgen Loop. Temple police found the bodies inside the store after responding to a late Wednesday call requesting a welfare check at the store.
In the Belton incident, Sims approached two employees at close of business and pointed a shotgun at them. After the men ran away, Sims got in his car and left the area. No shots were fired and nobody was injured.
Sims was identified as a former NAPA employee who was recently terminated.
