Leon River Bridge on Waco Road to Close Overnight

A contractor was unable to complete work overnight on the Leon River Bridge on Waco Rd., so it will be closed overnight again tonight. The closure is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. and end by 7 a.m. on Tuesday.
When the bridge reopens it will be reduced to one lane for five months, weather permitting, to facilitate the cleaning and painting of the truss structure.
As part of the project, temporary stoplights will be placed at each end of the bridge to help with orderly traffic flow.
Travelers should plan for delays and consider alternative routes.
