Two Incumbents File for Place on the 2017 General Election Ballot

City CouncilSo far two incumbents have filed for a place on the ballot for the anticipated May 2017 election. Councilmember Craig Pearson and Dan Kirkley are seeking re-election.

Belton residents seeking a place on the ballot must file an application at City Hall before 5 p.m. on February 17.

Councilmembers are elected to two-year terms. They meet in regularly scheduled meetings twice a month, and for their service they receive $1 annually.

Terms for the following councilmembers are set to expire in May:
  • Mayor Pro Tem David K. Leigh
  • Councilmember Craig Pearson
  • Councilmember Jerri Gauntt
  • Councilmember Dan Kirkley
