The City of Belton Fire Department is an equal opportunity employer. Applications for employment are processed in accordance with Chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code, which governs municipal service for Firefighters. Each applicant must successfully pass a civil service written exam, with a minimum score of 70 points in an open, competitive and free civil service examination. Applicants and employees are hired and promoted without regard to race, color, gender, religion, age, or disability.

Helpful Information
The Belton Fire Department does not accept applications unless actively hiring. Register on our website to be notified by email or text message in advance of our next civil service examination. Candidates must be certified as a Basic Firefighter by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and have a current EMS certification (Basic or Paramedic) issued by the Department of State Health Services. Per Local Civil Service Rules, certified Paramedics will be moved to the top of the Eligibility List created during the Civil Service hiring process.
