Building Permits: Online Portal
Inspections conducted Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless offices are closed.
Requests received after 8 a.m. are conducted the next business day.
Belton uses MGO Connect for building permitting and inspection purposes.
The software allows contractors and residents to:
- Apply and pay for permits
- Submit plans
- Track application progress
- View/Print comment letters, inspection reports, building plans
- Request inspections
- Receive real-time notifications
Those without computer or Internet access may submit a paper application in person, by email (planning@beltontexas.gov), or by fax 254-933-5822, Attn: Planning Department, to the City of Belton Planning Department, 333 Water Street.

- The City of Belton has adopted the 2015 ICC I-Codes and 2014 NFPA NEC.
- The public may access I-Codes online.
- City of Belton Code of Ordinances are available online.
- Work exempt from permitting is located in the 2015 IRC R105.2. The City of Belton amendments to this code are located in ordinances Chapter 4 Article III Sec. 4-35.
