Storm-related Permits

To expedite cleanup and restoration efforts in the City of Belton following the May 22, 2024, storm, a temporary permitting process has been established for storm-related permits. In addition, storm-related contractor fees will be waived until July 1, 2024.

Contractors are still required to obtain a permit for the following services:
  • New construction (fees will not be waived)
  • Repair or replacement of structural elements (roof framing, wall framing, patio covers, etc.)
  • Re-roof
  • Electrical service repair
  • New windows
Until July 1, once a storm-related application is submitted, contractors may begin emergency work. A permit should be obtained as soon as possible because inspections cannot be performed without an approved permit.

Contact the Planning Department, 254-933-5812, to schedule emergency inspections.

Non-storm-related Permitting Process

Inspections conducted Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., during normal business hours.

Requests received after 8 a.m. are conducted the next business day.
