Planning & Zoning Commission

The Planning and Zoning Commission advises the City Council on matters related to zoning, planning, public improvements and the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The responsibilities of the Planning and Zoning Commission include:

  • Make recommendations to the City Council regarding the approval or disapproval of subdivision plats 

  • Review and make recommendations on the zoning of land for newly annexed areas

  • Make recommendations to the City Council for adoption of rules and regulations to govern the process to plat and subdivide land

  • Make recommendations regarding amendments to the Comprehensive Plan


Meetings

The Planning and Zoning Commission meets at 5:30 on the third Tuesday of each month at the Harris Community Center (Wright Room), 401 N. Alexander.
