Facade Improvement Grants

Facade Improvement Grants

Facade_Improvement_TirzahThe City of Belton's Facade Improvement Grant Program is designed to promote top-tier exterior refurbishments within the historical business hub in Downtown Belton. By enhancing building designs and rejuvenating facades, this initiative aims to cultivate a more welcoming environment, enticing visitors and bolstering the prosperity of local enterprises.

These grants specifically target visible exterior enhancements on storefronts, commercial structures, and commercial residential buildings situated within the  Downtown Development District.

Eligible Area: Downtown Development District

How It Works: Facade grants are available on a 50/50 matching basis with a cap of $10,000 per facade facing a public street or alley (maximum two facades eligible per application).

Eligible Costs: See application packet.

Eligible Buildings: The grants are mostly limited to commercial buildings in the Downtown Development District, although in certain situations buildings with tenant may be eligible.

Total Program Budget: Each year, the Belton City Council allocates a limited amount of funds (typically between $50,000 and $150,000) toward Facade Improvement Grants, enough to support anywhere from 3 to 15 separate projects.
