The Belton Police Department has charged Jay Isaiah Allen, 33, with capital murder and tampering with evidence related to the death of 3-year-old Quintavious Trejo.

On Saturday, Allen contacted a family member in Fort Worth and admitted he made a mistake. The family member became concerned and drove to Belton. Allen then directed the person to a wooded area in the 1300 block of W. Avenue O, which was near his residence. The family member located the body of the victim and immediately called 911.

The victim’s body was sent for an autopsy to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas County. The cause and manner of death is pending the autopsy.

Belton Police Investigating Homicide

The Belton Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred near the 1300 block of Daniel Drive at about 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022.

 

The victim is a 3-year-old male, was located in a wooded area nearby. He was pronounced deceased on arrival with signs of trauma.  The details regarding when or how the death occurred are still under investigation.  The name of the victim is being withheld as next of kin are still being notified about the incident.

 

A relative and person of interest, 33-year-old Jay Isaiah Allen, of Temple is in custody. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.  The case is currently under investigation by the Belton Police Department Criminal Investigation Division. Formal charges are pending.

The Belton Police Department is attempting to locate Jay Isaiah Allen, 33, as a person of interest in the homicide of a 3-year-old child. He was last seen in a silver 2009 Buick Enclave, Texas license plate NNV7699.  He may be headed toward the Fort Worth area.
