Belton PD Reminds Residents to Hide-Take-Lock Following Early Morning Car Burglary Arrests

The Belton Police Department is reminding residents to take precautions with their vehicles following the arrest of two men on burglary charges early Friday morning. The reminder is to hide or take valuables out of cars and to lock car doors to prevent theft.

Bralon Amad Buhl, 18, and Cardarius Devonta Lymon, 17, were both arrested this morning and charged with burglary of a motor vehicle. A third person with the men was a juvenile who was released to parents. Charges for that individual will be referred to Juvenile Court.

At about 4:30 a.m. a Belton police officer initiated a traffic stop in the Quail Meadows neighborhood after witnessing a car driving without headlights on. An investigation revealed stolen property from several recent car burglaries in the Belton area, and at least one vehicle in Bell County. Two stolen firearms were recovered.

Buhl was driving and Lymon was a passenger in the car that was pulled over.

The vast majority of car burglaries in Belton occur to unlocked cars, so to safeguard against becoming a victim Belton PD advises residents to hide or take valuables out of a car before locking it.
