The Belton Police Department has released the name of the man who died Friday morning as he attempted to cross Main Street near MLK. The man’s name is Nicholas Ramirez, 23, of Belton. We send our condolences to his family and friends. 


Man Dies in Pedestrian Accident on N. Main

A man has died after being hit by a car this morning at around 6:13 a.m. while he was crossing N. Main Street near its intersection with MLK.

The man received CPR at the scene and was transported by ambulance to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. After the accident, the Belton Police Department temporarily closed N. Main Street from 6th Avenue to 10th Avenue to conduct a crash investigation. The street has reopened.

The deceased man's identity will be released after next-of-kin are notified.
