Belton Police Respond to Fatal Crash on U.S. 190

On Monday, October 17, 2016, at 9:01 a.m., the Belton Police Department responded to a fatal crash involving three vehicles on U.S. Highway 190 at the G. Wilson overpass.

An eastbound motorcycle struck a white Toyota van that was slowing for traffic. The motorcycle rider then fell off the motorcycle and rolled into the path of an eastbound eighteen-wheel truck and trailer. Both the motorcycle and operator ended up under the trailer.

The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace David Barfield. The drivers of the truck and the van did not sustain any injuries.

The identity of the deceased will not be released until notification of next of kin. The accident is being investigated by the Belton Police Department Crash Investigation Team.
