Belton Municipal Phones Temporarily Out

The phone lines are temporarily down in municipal buildings throughout Belton after a private party inadvertently severed a fiber optic cable near Central Avenue.

The outage does not affect the 9-1-1 system or phones at the Belton Police Department.

A repair is currently under way. It is anticipated that phone service will be restored before 5 p.m. today.
