Suspect in Evening Shooting Arrested

On August 27, 2020, the Belton Police Department arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with a shooting that occurred in the 400 block of Smith Street around 5 p.m. that evening.
An investigation by the Belton Police Criminal Investigations Division led to the arrest of a 16-year-old male, of Temple. The juvenile is charged with Murder of a 16-year-old male. The suspect was arrested at 11:15 p.m. in the area or Orion Drive and East Cedar Crest Lane after evading in a vehicle in Temple. He was subsequently booked into the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center.
